It may bill itself as “elevated, chef-crafted Mexican food with a Texas influence,” but decent new-wave Tex-Mex is more like it. Housed in the historic Plano Ice House, the high-ceilinged dining hall has no fewer than six video screens, so if you don’t like TV dinners, this is not the place for you. Some dishes are much better than others — best are the guacamole, chicken quesadillas, carnitas torta, crab-corn or chile pork enchiladas, and carnitas tacos. For dessert, try the well-drenched tres leches cake or stop in the adjacent Nate’s Gelato Shop on the way out for a creamy, cool treat. Full bar. Leslie Brenner/Guide
