Smart Order: At Las Palmas, a Deluxe dish and just $20 for two

At $19.95, the Deluxe combination plate is one of the most expensive items on the menu at Las Palmas, a new Tex-Mex restaurant in Dallas. But it is actually a bargain in disguise, loaded with so many items that it takes two plates to hold them all.

At $19.95, the Deluxe combination plate is one of the most expensive items on Las Palmas' well-priced menu. But it is actually a bargain in disguise, loaded with so many items that it takes two plates to hold them all. We're looking at two pork tamales, a sour cream enchilada, spicy refried beans and Mexican rice, with a crispy taco and a bean and cheese burrito riding shotgun. It's easily enough for two and a good introduction to the classics on the menu. And it's the only way to taste the fabulous bean and cheese burrito. That's reason enough to order this dish.
