Gas Monkey Bar N' Grill opened quietly in D/FW Airport on Wednesday, March 5.

Discovery Channel airs the reality TV show Fast N’ Loud in 80 countries worldwide, says its star Richard Rawlings — good enough reason to open a new Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill in the international terminal of D/FW Airport.

Rawlings is also owner of Gas Monkey Garage, the Dallas hot rod shop now famous on TV. The garage is just a few miles from the first Gas Monkey Bar N Grill, which opened in September 2013 in Dallas.

The original restaurant has impressive live music lineups, and “when the weather’s, nice the patio isquite crowded,” Rawlings says. (He’s right.) The D/FW Airport Gas Monkey restaurant, the brand’s second, won’t have live music, of course, but the menu of burgers, chips and queso, and chicken sandwiches will be largely the same.

If the Gas Monkey restaurants continue to do well, Rawlings says he wants to open “15 or 20 more.” He and his team are currently scouting for location No. 3, which will likely be out of the area, but still in Texas, Rawlings told me.

Meanwhile, he’s busy gearing up for more filming with Discovery. Fast N’ Loud has been approved for filming through 2015, he says.
