Cody Nickson of Plano took home the prize in Wednesday night's finale of The Amazing Race.
Nickson, 32, may already be familiar to regular viewers of reality TV because he just finished a stint on Big Brother. He ran the race with Jessica Graf, 26, who he met while on Big Brother. She listed "getting through seven weeks of hell on Big Brother" under "the accomplishment you are most proud of." Thus, their moniker of "Team Big Brother."
The now-engaged couple faced challenges, including making fortune cookies and bashing TVs, in the two-hour finale that included the final four teams. In the end, it was finding the pieces for and assembling a pretty big model airplane that secured the victory and the big prize.
Now she and Nickson can list being winners of Season 30 of the multiple Emmy-winning Amazing Race on the next short "accomplishment you are most proud of" for their next foray into reality television. Might I suggest another CBS reality TV show for which they might be perfect?
But first, according to ETonline.com, they "plan to use their winnings to move to Dallas and buy a house" after a wedding in "Los Angeles in the fall."
It turns out a million-dollar prize can even entice former pro basketball players. Retired Dallas Mavericks players Shawn Marion and Cedric Ceballos were two of the biggest names to compete in this edition of The Amazing Race. They were eliminated during the fourth episode.
