Got money on your mind? Then today's reality TV casting call is for you

Tired of working all day with little to show for it? Is "payday" more like "exchange day"?

Then the casting call for  I Control My Money could be just the thing. And it's conveniently right after work. The new reality TV show's first open casting call is Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Place Las Colinas, 5455 Green Park Drive.

The International Financial Leadership Association is behind the show. The organization, founded by Rodney Ballance, has been holding financial empowerment workshops across the country since 2007. For free. And now, they're bringing the idea to television in the hopes of helping people get their money right.

"There has never been a time when someone hasn't come up to me and asked, 'Why haven't we been told about this before'," said Ballance in an email. "We're not just doing a TV show, we're creating an opportunity for millions of people to start their own personal financial revolution."

What are producers are hoping to find during today's casting call?

"We're looking for three participants from the Dallas area," said Ballance, who is also the show's executive producer. "One will be a family who is torn by debt. Another who is trying to find the best way to save for college ... and another person or couple who are trying to figure out their retirement planning strategy. These are the topics I want to tackle early in the life of the show."

There may be another chance to audition. But the best way, according to Ballance, is to come this evening and hear "first-hand what we're looking for and how the show will flow."
