Are you single and ready to mingle -- on TV? Two reality shows are casting in D-FW

In the digital age, singles can find love at the click of a mouse, the touch of an app or even competition-style on a reality TV show.

If that last one sounds appealing, North Texans are in luck. Two reality TV series are currently looking for singles who are ready to mingle in front of a national television audience.

The first is a household name that's produced local celebs like Sean Lowe and Carly Waddell. You guessed it -- ABC's The Bachelor is coming to Embassy Suites in Fort Worth on June 27 in search of guys and gals to compete for love. And extravagant vacations with endless amounts of alcohol, because those are real attractions, right?

Casting runs from 4-8 p.m. at the hotel, but if you're unable to make it, the show is also accepting mail-in and online applications. Don't forget to include a video showing how attractive you are.

The second is a brand new show to America, produced by the one and only Ellen DeGeneres. It's called First Dates and promises no competition or elimination process. The show sounds simple enough: Participants are paired up for a blind date. Just a date, that's it, but "where it goes from there is up to you," says a press release.

First Dates is currently accepting applications online for interested people ages 18 to 65. Taping is scheduled to start in July in Chicago.
