It was meant to happen. The house that Kelly Clarkson built welcomes her again but this time it will be in all her glory. Not only will Kelly Clarkson be mentoring the contestants on Wednesday, April 1st, she will also perform. And not only will the pride of Burleson be performing that night, the remaining eight contestants will all be singing songs from Kelly Clarkson's songbook. Win-win-win!
As a fan of Kelly and of American Idol I find this very exciting, especially in a season with some solid contenders. Because let's be honest, the past few seasons had a couple good contestants but for some reason something felt off. Some of the changes this season have worked and already some of these contestants have given some extremely memorable performances. (You can see my favorites at the end of the post.)
Another thing to look forward to is that fans will have the opportunity to save their favorite contestants from elimination using the "Idol Fan Save" on Twitter. A move that The Voice has been using for a while now and should give the show some good buzz.
Check out some of my favorite performances so far this season plus my all-time favorite Kelly Clarkson performance

And now, let's bow to the queen of American Idol as she sings the Big Band hit "Stuff Like That There"
