Update: Josh Hamilton's wife won't star in ‘Real Housewives’ after all

It looks like Katie Hamilton, the estranged wife of Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton, won't be a reality-TV star after all.

Back it February, it was widely reported that Katie Hamilton would be joining the cast for the 10th season of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Orange County. But this week, the Orange County Register revealed that the only new cast member is Meghan Edmonds.

Katie and Josh Hamilton are in the midst of divorce proceedings, following a highly publicized drug relapse that was revealed in February. Katie Hamilton hasn't made any public statements regarding why she dropped out of the show, but one can presume it's related to the family's issues.

Bravo announced last month that Real Housewives of Orange County will be returning this year for its 10th season. (I'm just going to let that nugget of information sink in for a minute.) Today, via People, we got the news that there will be new faces on season 10 — including the wife of a former Texas Rangers star.

People is reporting that Katie Chadwick Hamilton, wife of former Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton, will be on the new season when it premieres in April. Josh Hamilton currently plays for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, where he’s been since leaving the Rangers after the 2012 season.

Being the wife of a sometimes-reviled MLB player ought to have appropriately prepared Katie Hamilton for the viper's nest of reality TV. After all, she's already survived being heckled by bitter Rangers fans.
