X-Files resurrects

After waiting for what felt like centuries, The X-Files reboot has finally begun filming. When we last left our favorite federal agents in the 2008 film The X-Files: I Want to Believe, Dana Scully (played by Gillian Anderson) was a doctor working in a hospital and Fox Mulder (played by David Duchovny) was on the run. Now the two are back and they have more paranormal mysteries to solve. I want to believe this reboot will be good. Entertainment Weekly got a first look at the greatest thing to grace us this year.

Paramount finds director for Looking for Alaska

Paramount may have gained the rights to John Green's "Looking for Alaska" in 2005, but, now, finally, the search for a director is over. John Green announced on twitter that Becca Thomas, who directed Electrick Children, will be the new director -- replacing Sarah Polley. Much of Thomas' work deals with themes of youth and adolescence, so hopefully she'll be able to bring her talent to the table.

Oh Canada

Three Canadian politicians, Rachel Notley, Don Iveson and Naheed Nenshi, decided to celebrate their political partnership with a t-shirt bearing Nine Inch Nails' signature logo. The politicians thought it would be a comical nod to their favorite band and represent their political alliance, considering that their initials spell NIN. Who said politicians weren't cool?

Donald Trump is not 'Rockin' in the Free World'

Earlier this month when Donald Trump announced his run for the Republican nominee, he played Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World" in the background. Young, an ardent Bernie Sanders supporter and Canadian citizen, did not approve of this and took to Facebook to express his disapproval. Trump, on the other hand, accused Young of being a "total hypocrite" because Young came to him looking for money for an audio deal. Oh how the plot thickens.

I'm confused as to how this happened

Somehow Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris beat Beyoncé and Jay Z as highest paid celebrity couples, according to Forbes. Swift and Harris' combined income is $146 million, blowing Beyoncé and Jay Z's mere $100 million out of the water. Unfortunately, both couples make way more than I do, so I shouldn't care too much.

These two held the position of "highest paid couple" for so long. How were they dethroned?
