Rick Perry's 2016 presidential candidacy walk-up music is a gun-toting Republican dream

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry announced his 2016 presidential bid today in Addison. More importantly, he rolled out a new walk-up song — a customized version of Georgia singer Colt Ford's "Answer to No One."

Here's a clip of the song and Perry in action at his announcement today:

And for comparison here is the O.G. version of the song:

The Perry-ized lyrics:

I'm climbing for the top, representin' for the country

I'm the people's champ right out the deer camp

Shotgun toter, republican voter

Hank Junior supporter, let's protect our border

To hell with anyone who don't believe in the USA

Rick Perry all the way ( original lyric: 'Cause this is what I say)

I won't back up, I don't back down

I've been raised up to stand my ground

Take my job but not my guns

Tax my check till I ain't got none

Except for the good Lord up above

I answer to no one

While Perry is headed to New York to hit the news shows and then Iowa to shake voters' hands in hopes of earning the Republican nomination, maybe he'll consider this playlist of other tunes adopted by politicians in previous election cycles:
