Heads up, savvy social media folks in Dallas: Your photos and videos from Snapchat could be featured in a big way on Friday, May 29.
According to a filter on Snapchat (which you can see if you're a logged-in Snapchat user), Dallas will be featured as an "Our Story" on Friday. That means anyone who submits photos or videos and adds them to the "My Dallas Story" tab could potentially have his or her Snaps featured on Snapchat's story all about Big D.
Those stories, then, can be seen by any Snapchat user -- and news sources estimate more than 100 million people have downloaded the app.
Waitaminute, what's Snapchat?
Get with the program! Snapchat is a social media platform where users share videos and photos from their real lives. The company was worth $19 billion -- yes, billion -- back in February, Forbes reports.
In its early stages, Snap was known as the app used by sexting teens. That's ancient history: Many teens and college students upload dozens of (tasteful) photos and videos a day simply to show their friends what they're up to. All photos and videos vanish after 24 hours.
