Although there are so many podcast options out there, there is something special about podcasts with a Texan point-of-view.  Here are five Texas podcasts that are perfect for surviving DFW traffic or a stroll through Dallas's lovely tunnels.

1. The Texas Miracle

This new-ish podcast from the Texas Observer covers everything from Pokemon Go to Black Lives Matter. There's a heavy political slant to the podcast and quite the Texas twang from host Andrea Grimes (who loves broadcasting from the 'Texas Tiki Shed.')

Complete archives of The Texas Miracle can be found on the Texas Observer website, iTunes and Stitcher.

2. From The Hip

From YouTube to iTunes, you can get all of your pop culture tee from Dawn Burkes and a rotating roster of Guidelive contributors.

In addition to very thorough Empire coverage, Dawn will also keep you updated on award shows, politics, and colorful figures like Stacey Dash.

Catch the full archive of From the Hip episodes on Audioboom.

3. Truth & Justice with Rob Ruff

Truth & Justice is a legal / true crime podcast is suited for fans of Serial and Undisclosed. The first season covers the Adnan Syed case, but the second season is all about wrongfully convicted men in Tyler, Texas.

Some of the courtroom scenes described in the podcast are pretty dramatic, such an actor allegedly being brought into court to impersonate a crime victim.

Truth & Justice can be found on Audioboom and  Tunein Radio.

4. Tribcast

Tribcast is an inside baseball look at Texas politics and policy. Featuring some of the leading reporters and editors from The Texas Tribune, this podcast is perfect for newcomers to discover the players in local politics.

You can find Tribcast on Soundcloud.

5. Texas CrimeCast

The Texas CrimeCast is hosted by the crime reporters of The Dallas Morning News and covers courts, police departments and (of course) crime in North Texas.

From the suspicious death of a Dallas lawyer, to the ongoing Susan Hawk drama, this podcast has a little bit of everything.

You can find Texas CrimeCast on Audioboom.
