On the first segment, the hosts dissect the new documentary hitting theaters this week, Nowitzki: The Perfect Shot, about Dallas Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki. Turns out, Dirk can shoot a basketball, but can't bowl to save his life. So, that should make you feel better. And what exactly does all of that B-roll of the Fort Worth Stockyards have to do with anything?

Next, Edward Ruiz - better known as Confetti Eddie - drops by the studio, but not in a puff of smoke. Eddie is a Dallas-based magician, illusionist, showman and magic historian of sorts. His shows at Exposition Park have become a popular draw with their mash-up of magic and burlesque. He explains why sex sells even in magic (just check out this NSFW video posted by the Dallas Observer from one of his shows), what he really thinks about celebrity illusionist Criss Angel and why a good magician never reveals his secrets. Also, he performs a couple of tricks for us in studio - see the videos on this page.

Finally, Lauren Smart talks about her new story in the Dallas Observer on the "Best Texas Road Trips for Art Seekers." Hint: It's not just Marfa.
