Kirin Court

The quality at this Richardson Chinese palace varies from year to year. Lately, dinners have impressed. The Peking duck is among the best in D-FW (be sure to order the “second helping,” or you’ll lose half the duck). Unusual dishes, such as sliced abalone over greens or twice-cooked pork with preserved vegetable, are a strength, but less adventurous offerings, like pan-fried beef with Chinese broccoli or stir-fried minced duck with lettuce wraps, are good, too. There’s a wide assortment of dim sum, which is served from carts every day till 3 p.m. (otherwise you can order from a menu), but the quality is variable. Beer, wine and a limited selection of alcohol and cocktails. Reservations are accepted, except for Saturday and Sunday brunch. (Though parties of eight or more can call ahead to be put on a list.)
