Nonna

The remarkable creative energy of Julian Barsotti, who opened his Highland Park Italian place in 2007, shows no sign of letting up. Spuntini (bar bites), antipasti, salads and pastas are outstanding, as are pizzas from the wood-burning oven. Barsotti changes the menu constantly based on the season and the ingredients that are exciting him, with updates posted to the website daily. The small dining room — which books quickly (do reserve in advance) — is buzzy and noisy, full of good energy (but not great for intimate conversation). Closed Sunday; dinner only. Full bar.
