The Dallas Morning News

This week marks the 80th anniversary of the Texas Centennial Exposition at Fair Park. And what better way to celebrate such an anniversary than with a tummy full of corny dogs and a free ride on the Texas Star?

Hint: There isn't a better way.

So if you missed your chance Friday night, fret not, because Saturday night means rides are still free at Fair Park. This is all in celebration of the Texas Centennial, which marked the 100th anniversary of Texas' independence from Mexico. Around 50 buildings were built in Fair Park and the celebration ran from June 6-Nov. 29 in 1836.

But this celebration only lasts until 10 p.m. Saturday night, so check out the photos below and get out there for some fun.
