Neither the great recession nor the cocktail lounge glut could snap the cap back on bottle service. Dallas is experiencing a boomlet in nightclubs where credit cards (now with chips) get maxed and vodka is still czar. TBD and Masque have opened on McKinney Avenue, and Sidebar recently posted its velvet rope across from the Quadrangle.
So it's time to reinforce a few rules for the new generation of conspicuous quaffers:
Don't sip your drink through those little straws. That's infantile. Use them to stir and then dispose.
Resist going stag. Too many brahs spoil the broth.
Groom before getting out. It's surprising how many people neglect their toilette and yet drive Porsches.
