Dry weather returns today along with cooler weather and less humidity, making for a beautiful day! Partly to mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 can be expected.
The cooler pattern comes just in time for the Mother’s Day holiday weekend. Unfortunately, the chance of showers and storms will return for the weekend. A few showers could develop as early as Saturday afternoon to the west of DFW. Here in the metroplex, the chance of rain will remain low Saturday until evening, when a few showers could sweep through.
The next round of rain and storms will likely push in on Sunday. It would be a good idea to keep those Mother’s Day plans either inside or flexible (if planning to be outside). The highest chance of rain will be during the middle of the day. While this may come as bad news, there is some good news - the severe weather threat appears low.
Additional storm chances are in the forecast for next week, along with a warming trend.
