The humidity is back in place today. This, combined with building heat, will contribute to thunderstorm chances late in the day. Some of these storms could be severe with a threat for hail and damaging winds. A brief tornado is possible as well. The timing for these storms to develop will be between 5-9 p.m. Not everyone will see these storms. The main area of concern for storms will be for DFW to the east. Until then, expect sunny, humid, windy, and hot conditions. While the high is expected to top out in the low 90s, the heat index will be close to 100!
Another chance of storms returns Thursday as a cold front approaches. The coverage area of these showers and storms will likely be higher than today. Some of these storms could be severe as well.
Dry weather will return Friday, along with cooler weather. A cold front will drop highs into the upper-70s to lower-80s and lows into the 50s and 60s. This cool down will happen just in time for the Mother’s Day holiday weekend. Unfortunately, the chance of storms may return for Sunday.
