What to know about Dallas’ EarthX conference starting on Earth Day 2024

North Texas residents will receive free admission on the first day of the conference on Monday, April 22.

To commemorate Earth Day 2024 and raise awareness about environmental challenges and solutions across the country, the nonprofit organization EarthX is hosting a conference in Dallas.

EarthX Expo, the annual conference that began as a local event in 2010, kicks off Monday, April 22, the day Earth Day is celebrated.

The future of infrastructure, an indigenous perspective on environmental issues and affordable and sustainable housing in the region are some of the sessions that will focus on North Texas.

This year’s conference will run through Friday, April 26, at the Hilton Anatole Dallas. In previous years, EarthX has been held at Fair Park in South Dallas. The conference was started by and sponsored by businessman and philanthropist Trammell S. Crow.

Topics will include clean energy, circular economy, oceans and islands, and conservation, as well as sessions on money and e-capital.

North Texas Day

On Monday, April 22, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the conference will include panels and conversations that will focus on North Texas environmental issues, policies and solutions, as well as how local organizations and nonprofits are fostering a sustainable future in the region.

Dallas officials will lead conversations about the Trinity River and the role of local parks and open spaces to enhance the quality of life of residents.

Local speakers such as Sarah Standifer, interim director of the city of Dallas Water Utilities, and Carlos Evans, director of Environmental Quality and Sustainability, will take part in the panel discussions

David Schechter, national environmental correspondent for CBS News; Vladimir Ryabinin, former head of the United Nations Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission; and State Rep. Salman Bhojani, D-Euless, are among the speakers and moderators.

EarthX is an international nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to educate and inspire people and organizations to take action towards a sustainable future worldwide.

The conference has evolved its name since its inception: Earth Day Dallas, then Earth Day Texas, and most recently EarthX.

Prices

The price to attend all five days of lectures is $1,500 (students pay $1,000), and three-day passes are available for $900 (students pay $600). A one-day pass is $99 for the conferences.
