Teen dead, 2 wounded at prom after-party shooting in Fort Worth

A shooting at a prom after-party resulted in the death of a 19-year-old and the hospitalization of two others.

Officers responded shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday to reports of shots being fired at a large party in the 3900 block of Singleleaf Lane, near Woodway Drive, in Fort Worth police said. They did not immediately locate any victims but began gathering information from witnesses.

About 1:15 a.m., two people with gunshot wounds were transported in a private vehicle to John Peter Smith Hospital and admitted. Both victims were listed in stable condition later in the morning.

A third victim, who was transported in a private vehicle, arrived at Harris Southwest Hospital about 2:15 a.m., police said. The victim was transferred to John Peter Smith Hospital.

The victim, identified in medical examiner records as Daniel Olalde Moreno, died Sunday afternoon. His cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the torso.

All three victims were at the party on Singleleaf Lane, according to police.

The mother of the Arlington Heights High School senior hosting the party told WFAA-TV (Channel 8) that the gathering was supposed to be small but the address was shared on a social media page and she estimated as many as 300 people showed up.

Dozens of shots were reportedly fired after a fight broke out related to a dice game, according to WFAA.

No arrest has been announced in the shooting and additional details surrounding the incident were not immediately available.
