Arlington man gets 60-year sentence in kidnapping, sexual assault of 13-year-old girl

An Arlington man who kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl received a 60-year prison sentence this week.

Nolan Neighbors, 33, was sentenced after a jury found him guilty on an aggravated kidnapping charge and three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to the Tarrant County district attorney’s office. Neighbors’ attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert on June 16, 2022, for the missing girl and later received a tip that she was at an Arlington apartment complex in the 700 block of Trinity Circle, near northeast Green Oaks Boulevard, police have said.

Neighbors was with the girl when she was found, police have said, and detectives believed Neighbors and the girl had been talking online and arranged to meet.

Prosecutors said this week that Neighbors drove to Honeygrove to pick up the girl and took her back to his apartment, where he sexually abused her for three days.

In an online video posted by the Tarrant County district attorney, the prosecutors said that Neighbors kept the girl in a closet until police arrived.
