The words "Starplex Pavilion" are as comforting to some Dallas music lovers as reconnecting with an old friend. And, in fact, if you're soon headed to the iconic open-air venue in Fair Park, the experience may feel like an overdue reunion, though you may not recognize your old buddy.
Starplex Pavilion kicked off its spring and summer concert season on May 4 to the tune of indie mainstays Kings of Leon. It was the first time in more than a decade attendees walk in calling the venue by one of its most beloved former names. (No one is sure how long it will last, but it's worth commemorating.)
The venue is ready to debut an $8 million makeover that includes all new seats, new entry ways, an increased number of trees and more. But before you get the image of the new Starplex rewritten in your mind, let's take a trip down memory lane with some of concert photos of Starplex past.
Remember any of these shows from 1988 to 1999?
