Watch: Texas country singer Granger Smith falls off stage, breaks ribs

The Dallas native managed to hop back up and finish the concert despite his injuries.

Dallas native and country music artist Granger Smith fell off stage Friday night during a concert in New Jersey and was later hospitalized.

A spokeswoman said in a statement posted on Facebook that Smith was standing on a sound monitor at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville when it  gave way and caused him to fall onto a metal barricade.

Smith got up and was able to finish the concert, but later went to a nearby emergency room where it was confirmed that he had broken two ribs and a lung that was punctured and partially collapsed.

The singer is best known for his songs "Backroad Song" and "If the Boot Fits." (He also has a backwoods alter ego called "Earl Dibbles Jr." who has his own songs.)

All of his shows and appearances have been cancelled for the rest of the weekend. Information about future shows will be released at a later time.

In the meantime, Smith said he is trying to get well so he can get back to his family in Texas.
