The Edge is dead. Long live Star?

102.1 The Edge is no more; radio station sends listeners to The Eagle

iHeartMedia Dallas has announced that 102.1 FM will now be known as Star 102.1, "the new home of Mainstream Adult Contemporary for Dallas-Fort Worth." They're kicking the station off with something many Edge listeners already guessed: Commercial-free, around-the-clock Christmas music.

After the holidays, though, Star will play "hits from major artists like Madonna, Maroon 5, Michael Jackson and Kelly Clarkson."

Some of the alternative music that previously found a home on The Edge is merging with 97.1 The Eagle.

Star 102.1's Facebook page is now live. I hope you're ready to get in the holiday spirit, because the Christmas music has already begun.
