Updated: Off the Rails Country Music Fest in Frisco adds more talent

Editor's note: This story has been updated throughout.

Off the Rails Country Music Fest will return to North Texas for a second year, bringing with it a stacked lineup that includes none other than Texas darling Miranda Lambert.

According to an announcement Monday, Lambert will headline the two-day event, set for May 6-7, 2017 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, alongside Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Justin Moore, Cam and others. More artists are expected to be announced next year.

The festival will also play host to food trucks, western wares vendors, a video game area, two-step dance lessons and a bourbon tasting tent, among other attractions.

Last year's inaugural event satisfied in the way of tunes from headliners such as Blake Shelton and Chris Young. Country Music Hall of Famer Randy Travis even made an appearance.

Much of the magic was subdued, however, by the venue's ambiance. Normally home to the FC Dallas soccer team, Toyota Stadium's all-concrete everything did little to set the festival mood. And GuideLive's then-music critic said the stadium was so packed, long lines for food and drinks inhibited movement throughout the venue.
