Carole King and Dallas' own Don Henley are booked for a double bill at Hyde Park in London

It may seem like an unlikely pairing to some, but on July 3, at Hyde Park in London, Don Henley and Carole King will share a double bill. Local connections first: Henley hails from Linden, in the Piney Woods of deep East Texas, and he and his family now live in Dallas. Beautiful: The Carole King Musical opens June 7 at the Winspear Opera House.

The British newspaper, The Telegraph, reports that King will perform her entire Tapestry album during the Hyde Park show. Released in 1971, Tapestry has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide. It won Album of the Year at the 1972 Grammy awards show, and 34 years after its release, The Telegraph reports, it placed 36th in the list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, as reported by Rolling Stone.

If you haven't seen it, you really ought to watch the PBS American Masters documentary about the Troubadour, the West Hollywood, Calif., nightclub where Henley, King, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell and many others cut their musical teeth in the 1970s.
