Concert news: Hall & Oates will roll into Fair Park in May with extra-soulful support

Seems that a day doesn't go by in D-FW lately without a major concert announcement. This morning is no exception: Just a few months after they got people dancing in the aisles of the Majestic during CitySquare's annual benefit event, we hear the news that blue-eyed-soul icons Hall & Oates will be back in Dallas to do a full-length concert for a much larger crowd.

Daryl Hall and John Oates land at Gexa Energy Pavilion for what's sure to be a singalong-rich evening on May 13. Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. at livenation.com.

Hall & Oates' openers for the outing aren't too shabby themselves: With the brilliant performing dynamics of both Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings in play, the concert could almost be considered a mini-festival of American roots. Go early for the life-affirming blues and soul, stay late for the criminally catchy R&B-flavored pop.
