Grand Prairie pop star Selena Gomez turns 24 today. Here are some fun facts about the starlet:

Arwin!

There was going to be a The Suite Life of Zack and Cody spin-off based on the quirky janitor, Arwin, titled Arwin! The series was supposed to star Brian Stepanek as Arwin, Cassie Scerbo (Bring It On: In it to Win it) and, that's right, Ms. Selena Gomez.

The Original Selena

She was named after Selena Quintanilla-Perez, who was tragically killed three years after Selena Gomez was born. She was literally born to be a star.

Selena goes punk

Pop-punk fan Selena, who loves bands like Paramore and Fall Out Boy, once did a duet with Dallas' Forever the Sickest Kids.

Awkward!

Her first kiss was on-camera with Dylan Sprouse on an episode of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

She's gotta do what she's gotta do

To help preserve her voice, the star drinks olive oil before every show and completes a set of vocal warm-ups with her band mates.
