Belle and Sebastian hit Dallas for first time since 2006 for Summer Cut music fest

Scotland-based indie band Belle and Sebastian is making a long overdue trek to North Texas this summer for the headlining spot at radio station KXT's annual Summer Cut: A Happy Funtime Fest. According to the band's website, it will be the band's first local gig since playing Granada Theater in 2006.

Per Monday's announcement, Belle and Sebastian, which put out a new album in January, will be supported by a handful of local and regional acts, including Sarah Jaffe, Israel Nash and Doug Burr. But KXT promises more bands will be announced soon. (See current list of participating bands below.)

Now in its fourth year, Summer Cut is changing things up -- for the first time since its inception in 2012, the music festival will move venues from Gexa Energy Pavilion to Dallas' South Side Ballroom on Saturday, August 29.

Summer Cut vets hit all ends of the music spectrum, from Flaming Lips to Avett Brothers to Death Cab For Cutie and Grace Potter.

Tickets for this year's event go on sale Friday, June 19 at 10 a.m. at livenation.com. If you want to save 20 percent, there's a pre-sale Thursday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; use discount code "KXT."
