Lady Gaga and Yale team up for young people's emotional wellness

I've closely followed Lady Gaga's overall impact through the years. Not only am I a fan of her music, I've also been a fan of the message she's given to young people. At her shows there's a palpable atmosphere of acceptance and through the years helping others "accept themselves as they are" has become the singer's anthem.

As part of her work in this area, it was announced today that the Born This Way Foundation, founded by Lady Gaga and her mother Cyntia Germanotta, and the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence are launching an initiative called the Emotion Revolution. The Emotion Revolution will begin with an unprecedented online survey of high-school age youth nation-wide, where they'll explore how they feel, how they want to feel and how to bridge the gap between the two. The data will aide the scientific understanding of how to build positive school climates more effectively and empower young people to lead happy, healthy and productive lives. You can find more information at EmotionRevolution.org.

Years from now, I believe Lady Gaga's message of acceptance will be her strongest legacy. Some will remember her only for her music, or that meat dress, but I'm sure there will be those who will remember her because she was the singer who helped them love themselves.
