SXSW launches 24-hour video stream for jealous people who can't attend the festival

The music portion of Austin's annual SXSW festival (a.k.a. band boot camp) began Tuesday, which means thousands of musicians and fans are in the throws of an non-stop concert series that takes place in every available bar, restaurant, venue and street corner.

Of course, there are plenty of not-so-lucky people who are locked into job schedules like it's a normal work week, envy growing inside them with each passing tweet and Instagram photo. But as of Wednesday, those cooped up music lovers have a little something they can look forward to.

SXSW launched a 24-hour live stream called SXSW On, which features incessant video from festival showcases at Auditorium Shores, Emo's and North Door. That's right: live feeds from SXSW around the clock until the festival's close on March 22. Certain days even feature special performances, like Wednesday's feed from the International Day Stage.

It may not be the next best thing to the action -- actually catching some of the bands on their way through D-FW to Austin would be -- but we'll take it. Plus, no waiting in line required.
