Editor's note: This story has been updated with the June 18 opening date of Alamo Drafthouse in Denton.
When the Alamo Drafthouse opens in Denton this year, it'll seat as many as 881 people. The eight-screen theater will be the company's largest Alamo Drafthouse in Dallas-Fort Worth, Alamo's D-FW President Bryan Penley told the Denton Record-Chronicle.
The estimated opening date for the movie theater at Rayzor Ranch is June 18.
The new theater will mark the third Alamo Drafthouse opening in Dallas-Fort Worth since March 2018. Those guys are busy right now.
D-FW already operates Alamo Drafthouses in Richardson, the Cedars, Lake Highlands and Las Colinas.
The Denton theater will focus on a college crowd, Penley told the DRC:
"The college hours (late night screenings) and the appreciation of 35mm film will have more life than our current theaters in the D-FW area," he said. "A lot of programming that happens on this side of the metroplex could now be exclusive to Denton."
