The Women Texas Film Festival announced award winners on Aug. 21 for the inaugural event.

The award for Best Feature Film was presented to Christina Kallas' 42 Seconds of Happiness. The Lotus Gun, from Amanda Milius, won Best Short Film. Lizette Barrera, who directed short film Mosca (Fly), was named Filmmaker to Watch.

The three-day festival, founded by artistic director Justina Walford, screened feature films and four shorts blocks and and hosted panels during the three-day event.
