Valley of The Dolls 50th Anniversary - Presented by WordSpace

WordSpace president Charles Dee Mitchell says they'll be serving the fizzy Neely O'Hara vodka cocktail (left), named for Patty Duke's character in the movie. (Get the recipe below.)

Mitchell chose the film and says he covertly read the book in 10th grade thanks to a friend: "She disguised it under a pasted-on cover of James Michener's Hawaii and brought it to school. We passed it around for over week with all the good parts marked."

Doors open at 7 p.m. for the reception; movie starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 with a cash bar and bites, 231 Jefferson Blvd., 214-838-3554. wordspacedallas.com.
