Flash back to Laurence Fishburne in 'Cornbread, Earl and Me,' out on Blu-ray for the first time

Almost 15 years after its appearance on DVD, Cornbread, Earl and Me (1975, PG, 95 mins.) finally makes it onto Blu-ray.

The movie is as topical today as it was in the 1970s when it premiered. A revered basketball star with a bright future is killed when he's mistaken for a criminal by a white policeman, leaving questions in the wake of the death -- and a cover-up.

The film is remarkable for other reasons: It was one of the first starring roles for then-13-year-old Laurence Fishburne (Blackish). The movie also stars NBA Hall of Famer Jamaal Wilkes in the title role; Rosalind Cash; Bernie Casey; Antonio Fargas; Moses Gunn; and Madge Sinclair.
