Check out the first (short) trailer for Disney's live-action 'Beauty and the Beast'

Disney has slowly but surely been remaking (or at least revisiting) all of their beloved animated movies in live-action for quite some time now. Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, The Jungle Book and more have gone through the process, with several more announced for the future.

But Beauty and the Beast might have some of the highest stakes. The 1991 classic was the first animated film to be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards, and it was the first Disney movie to be adapted into a Broadway musical. When you mess with Beauty and the Beast, you mess with something that is beloved by a great many people (in a great many forms).

So how's it turning out? Well, Disney gave us the first tiny glimpse this morning:

The teaser shows very little of the characters (we hear them far more than we see them), save one: The Beast's castle, which appears to be lovingly recreated and true to the classic.

We just barely get a glimpse of Belle (Emma Watson), but we hear Lumiere (Ewan McGregor) and Cogsworth (Ian McKellen) talking about her, and they certainly sound like you'd hope they would.

The movie also features Luke Evans, Dan Stevens, Emma Thompson and Josh Gad. It will hit theaters on March 17, 2017.
