The Dallas International Film Festival has announced the first ten titles of the 2016 fest, including some homegrown product and other festival favorites. The festival runs April 14-24.
Highlights of the tenth annual festival include a pair of locally shot and produced features: Johnathan Brownlee's Three Days in August; a drama about an Irish-American artist; and William Kaufman's Daylight's End, an action-horror-thriller starring Johnny Strong and Lance Henriksen.
Also on tap are a number of films trickling down from Sundance, including Natalie Portman's A Tale of Love and Darkness; Werner Herzog's Lo and Behold, Reveries of the Connected World; and Chris Kelly's Other People.
