Anyone? Anyone? Fans of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" get their own festival in Chicago in May

This year is the 30th anniversary of one of the iconic teen movies of the '80s, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

It doesn't matter that the events in the film are highly improbable, actually kind of dangerous and skirted the law. Folks identified with the school-skipping, devil-may-care revolutionary named Ferris, played by Matthew Broderick with a sly smugness. They identified so much that now there's Ferris Fest, scheduled for May 20-22 in and around Chicago, according to CNN.

The movie itself was almost an ode to the Windy City. Ferris and friends visited Wrigley Field, what was then called the Sears Tower and other (here's that word again) iconic locales during the movie. The John Hughes film was released on June 11, 1986, and the "righteous dude" has been in the public consciousness ever since.

Ferris Fest will be hosted by film critic Richard Roeper, reports CNN.com. Organizers plan a re-enactment of the parade and its "Twist and Shout" singalong that had more than a hint of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video in it. Festival tickets range from $25 for the opening-night party to $300 for a three-day pass.
