We've more or less known that Academy Award winning actor Benicio Del Toro is a villain in Star Wars: Episode VIII for months. But on Monday, Disney and Lucasfilm confirmed the news alongside an announcement that the movie has begun principal photography.
Also joining the cast are Academy Award nominee Laura Dern (Jurassic Park, Wild) and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran.
The movie is now shooting at Pinewood Studios in London and is being directed by Rian Johnson. It continues the story we saw in The Force Awakens and will see the continuing adventures of characters like Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo Ren (alongside returning characters like Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker).
Based on the video announcement (below), Episode VIII will pick up right where the last film left off. Spoiler warning if you haven't seen The Force Awakens yet.
