This year's list of Oscar nominations has been released, and it brings with it a lot of thoughts and a lot of questions. For example, why is the list of nominated actors so white? Why did Creed get snubbed for a Best Picture nod? Why wasn't Star Wars: The Force Awakens nominated for Hair and Makeup (I mean, did the Academy members not see Rey's three buns?)?

And then there are more practical questions that have actual answers, like, "What the heck does the word 'revenant' mean? Isn't that some sort of Dungeons & Dragons thing?"

So we decided to make a little game out of it. Take our quiz of 10 Oscar-fueled questions to find out how much you need to study up on your film history before the Academy Awards ceremony on Feb. 28.

Chris Vognar, Tiney Ricciardi, Shannon Sutlief, Norma Cavazos, Brentney Hamilton, Hannah Wise, Sarah Blaskovich and Mike Wilson contributed to the questions and answers for this quiz.
