Doomsday breaks ground in new trailer for 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice'

It's been four months since the Comic-Con trailer for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice hit the web, and Warner Bros. has been rather mum on the superhero flick since, releasing only bits of concept art and short sneak peeks.

But that all changed tonight.

In the new trailer for the film, which premiered tonight on Jimmy Kimmel's show, we're fully introduced to the new Bruce Wayne, played by Ben Affleck. The scene is set as Clark Kent, reporter for The Daily Planet, attempts to interview Wayne at a Gala held by Lex Luthor. The topic of interest? The Dark Knight.

Wayne discusses the lack of accountability of other heroes, namely Superman, and the damage he caused in his 2013 fight with General Zod, leveling nearly half of Metropolis. There's tension, grit and a whole mess of crazy good looking action scenes.

Known by the comic book world as one of the only villains to take down Superman, Doomsday is a brutish, rocklike creature with a desire for destruction. Though the CGI for the rogue doesn't look all that great right now, it's sure to be cleaned up for release. Right?

The trailer then closes in the best of ways with a wide shot of the Trinity: Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman. And man, do they look good.

With Marvel Studios taking up much of the superhero limelight for the last few years, the ball is in DC's court to come out swinging.
