First 'Deadpool' trailer has the right doses of jokes and violence

After a long time of waiting and a low quality Comic Con leak, the first Deadpool trailer is finally, officially here. And so far, it's looking pretty great.

(There's also a pretty NSFW red band trailer on YouTube, if you're into bad words, more explicit sex jokes, some naked butts and a large helping of over-the-top violence. For adults only!)

Deadpool is interesting for several reasons. For one, the movie is looking very R-rated (moreso than the last R-rated Marvel Entertainment features, the Blade movies), which you don't see in many comic book adaptations right now. For another, the character of Deadpool is perhaps most famous for constantly breaking the fourth wall, often addressing audiences directly and acknowledging the fact that he's in a comic book. While you don't get much of that in the trailer itself, you can see some of it at the end of the video, and that was the approach Fox took with the "trailer trailer" in which Ryan Reynolds, as Deadpool, told audiences to keep an eye out for his movie trailer.

Speaking of Reynolds, he seems to be nailing the role so far. The script seems to be allowing him to embrace the character's absurdities much more than the less-than-perfect X-Men Origins: Wolverine, in which Reynolds also played a notably-not-suited Deadpool.

Anyway, after seeing this trailer I'm very excited to see more. Thankfully we only have to wait until February 2016, which isn't too long in the grand scheme of things.
