Republican group lassos Chuck Norris for March 4 dinner, or is it the other way around?

International action star, martial arts expert, bestselling author and internet meme legend Chuck Norris will speak at the Denton County Republican Party's annual Lincoln-Reagan dinner near Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on March 4.

Most people know that Norris can kill two stones with one bird, and that cars look both ways before he crosses the street. Did those people also know Norris has also been an active community servant and political writer for years?

In 1992, Norris and his wife Gena created the Kickstart Kids foundation, a non-profit that seeks to build moral character in youth through martial arts. The foundation is active in 56 public schools throughout Texas. Norris authored a 2004 New York Times bestseller titled Black Belt Patriotism: How to Reawaken America, and launched a political column on the Christian news website WorldNetDaily.com in 2006.

The Lincoln-Reagan dinner will take place at the Hyatt Regency DFW hotel at 2334 North International Parkway. Along with a silent auction and a dinner, the night includes an afterparty at the presidential suite in the hotel.

Dinner options include chicken or beef, as well as a gluten-free and a vegan option. (However, please note: If it looks like chicken, tastes like chicken and smells like chicken, but Norris says it's beef, it's beef. You don't argue with Chuck Norris.)

Sen. Rick Santorum will be the keynote speaker at the event.
