Located within The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, the Naomi Bruton Main Stage is named after one of TBAAL’s founding volunteers and Dallas actress who performed in non African-American theaters in the 1940s through the 1970s. In 1974, she co-founded Dallas Minority Rep Theatre with Irma P. Hall, Carol Frost and others. The theater seats 1,750, and is an excellent venue for major productions, concerts, workshops, etc.
