This hot spot near Fair Park was really the first to embrace the growler trend. Look no further than the bar’s one-of-a- kind draft system for proof. Bartenders use guns equipped with carbon dioxide pressure to pour beer into both glasses and growlers, which, according to owner Kevin Afghani, retains the freshness of a beer by limiting oxidation. Craft and Growler’s selection includes 42 rotating drafts alongside a wall of bottles. Not sure what to get? Craft and Growler offers flights for $10. This may not be the place to expand your palate geographically — the bar sells mostly Texas-brewed beers — but it is the best spot to pick up growler swag, from bike racks to carrying cases to cleaning aids and more. Recommended: Go for a beer-launch party and buy a bowl of pretzels to accompany your beer for 75 cents.

Drinkers choose from a menu of 42 rotating draft offerings to either swill on-site by the pint or flight or take home in a growler. Expect to find rare releases here. And if you don't have a to-go vessel yet, Craft and Growler has plenty of styles and sizes, as well as accessories like cleaning supplies, koozies, kits that turn a growler into a lamp and more. There’s also a wall of bottled beers patrons can purchase, but most are for off-site consumption only. While the bar does not offer liquor or a food menu, but it does serve light snacks. --Tiney Ricciardi/GuideLive
