All the Details

Urban Acres co-op CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) includes nearly 3,000 participants, who pay for shares (bins, actually) of what the market’s getting and selling weekly or semi-weekly. What’s available is mostly local, but not strictly local. Organic and non-GMO foods take precedence (no genetically altered ingredients). Participants can also get half-shares. If you don’t want to participate in the CSA program, the storefront is still a terrific neighborhood market where you can find pastured local meats, Empire Baking Company breads, Eagle Mountain and Caprino Royale cheeses, even Fred’s Alaskan Salmon, from a local whose family fishes in the Northwest.
