Life in Deep Ellum is a community cultural center built for the artistic, social, economic and spiritual benefit of Deep Ellum and the residents that live there. The 26,000 square foot facility has been set up as a non-profit organization to directly benefit the community. Venues include: ellum: ONSTAGE: a 1,000 capacity performance venue which functions Tuesday through Saturday as a performance venue, and has devoted Monday nights to community development. On Sunday mornings, Deep Ellum Church holds their weekly gatherings here. ellum: ART: a 1700 square foot area devoted to the grass roots support of the Deep Ellum art scene, and the artists that contribute. Deep Ellum Church: the first fellowship to be founded by the residents of Deep Ellum. Through an initiative of the Deep Ellum Residents council, this fellowship was chartered and now exists as Deep Ellum’s first official church. Mōkah Coffee: a coffee shop designed to have the look and feel of the basement of a monastery. The facility also houses a video production suite, and the capability to record live video and audio from the stage. Live DVD and audio production will be commonplace at Life in Deep Ellum.
