Fort Worth native brings Hollywood home as he launches production companies

Filmmaker and Fort Worth native Josh Mills spent more than a decade in Los Angeles and New York.

Now, he's back home and bringing some more production companies and his business partner with him. Mills and executive producer Steven Camp relocated independent production and finance company Desert Wind Films, which they launched after meeting in LA in 2008, to Fort Worth just last year. And now they're hosting a launch party for new companies Ten10 Entertainment and Ten10 Television on July 14.

Ten10 wants to "finance, develop, produce, advertise, market and release feature films. The company plans to do the same for TV.

"Ten10 Television has multiple projects in the works, which will allow us to be a more regular economic driver for the North Texas area," Camp said via a release. "We're committed to using local crews, technology, cast, locations and other supporting vendors whenever and wherever possible."

One of the company's first projects will be million-dollar feature film A Broken Bridge. The faith-based movie will chronicle Luke Wylie, who hasn't spoken since the night his parents died and how his brother Brady sought help. According to a release, the film should start production this fall in and around Fort Worth. With it, said Camp, they are also launching a children's ministry called "Good Grief," focused on grieving during loss of family, and a ministry called "Clean Slate," with a focus on love, faith and forgiveness.

"In our first meeting, Josh said, 'Someday when we have enough relationships in place so that we can function this company outside of LA, we're moving this company to the Dallas-Fort Worth area'," said Camp, who is from Chicago. "Sure enough, God has honored what we're trying to do here. ... We have several things in production for 2017."
