Tonight: Demi Lovato and Leon Bridges perform for President Obama

It's already been quite a year for Dallas-Fort Worth musicians Demi Lovato and Leon Bridges, and it just keeps getting better.

On the heels of the Grammys, during which Lovato performed and Bridges was nominated, the two are traveling to the White House for a performance -- as in, for President and First Lady Obama.

On Wednesday, Feb. 24, Bridges and Lovato join a star-studded lineup at a White House tribute to legendary bluesman Ray Charles. Deemed, "Smithsonian Salutes Ray Charles: In Performance at the White House," the show is part of a long-running concert series at the nation's capitol to honor the biggest names in modern music.

Musicians Usher, The Band Perry, Yolanda Adams, Andra Day, Anthony Hamilton, Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes), Sam Moore, and Jussie Smollett will also perform.

Fans can stream the concert live at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 at WhiteHouse.gov/live. 

It will also be broadcast on PBS stations on Friday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. CST.

The Ray Charles tribute will be the 16th "In Performance at the White House" event. Begun in 2009, the series has honored the musical genius of Stevie Wonder and Sir Paul McCartney, marked Black History Month with music from Motown, sonically explored Hispanic Heritage Month and showcased every genre from Broadway to country.

The Ray Charles tribute will also include a student workshop for 130 middle school, high school and college students.
